Meet the staff
Michael Stewart is the Headteacher at Trinity Christian School.
He has been teaching since 1987, working extensively across both the Primary and Secondary sectors. Michael was employed as an Advanced Skills Teacher and a Deputy Headteacher before coming to Trinity School in 2008. He is married to Jill and has two sons; Samuel and Luke, who both attend Trinity School.

Claire Bamford teaches History, Geography and World Views at Trinity Christian School. She has been at the school since 2002, working, at times, on both of the school’s sites.
Claire is married to Chris and has her first baby due in October.

Roy Jeffrey is Head of Science, Head of Maths and a member of the Senior Management Team. He has been at Trinity Christian School since 2001. Prior to this Roy taught at various Tameside High Schools.
He worked in industry for 24 years (Aerospace R&D, copper fabrication and primary copper production) before entering teaching in 1992.
Roy is involved in his local church as a Worship Leader.

Ann Watkins has taught English at secondary level at Trinity School for 22 years. She was involved in Christian education for a number of years before that.
Immediately after qualifying in 1972 she taught for a number of years in the state maintained system.
She is married to John and both their children were educated at Trinity School before going on to 6th form college

Janice Coupe teaches Biology, Science and Design and Technology at Trinity Christian School.
She is also the Examinations Officer. She has been teaching since 1992 and has worked at Trinity for ten years.
She has taught in both the primary and secondary sectors.

Laura Piekos is a member of the English Department and takes responsibility for teaching English to Year 7 through to Year 10. She also teaches in the Drama Department (GCSE standard).
She graduated from Edge Hill University, in 2008, having gained a 2:1 at degree level. In September 2008, Laura took six months out with a group called YWAM (Youth With A Mission) where she spent three months building upon her relationship with God and just over two months in India.
Laura is a committed Christian and currently worships at 'Vinelife Manchester' and also attends 'Reach', a lively student church in the heart of Manchester.

Brenda Deakin is Mother to seven children who have all attended Trinity Christian School. She loves Jesus and believes in the importance of Christian Education. She has for the past 12 years helped in school in a variety of ways. She currently works out the senior timetables, and helps with Maths, Science, and PE Lessons.

Marguerite Young is the French teacher at Trinity Christian School. She has been working at the school since 1989 and has been employed as the French teacher since 1992 covering French from Year 7 to G.C.S.E.
She is married to John and has two grown up children, Iain and Lorraine who both attended Trinity School.
Marguerite originally trained as a Speech Therapist at Leeds University and worked for the Ministry of Defence until the birth of her first child in 1980

Sara Ward is a member of the Humanities department and is currently the teacher of History (Year 7- Year 9), Geography (Year7 - Year 9), World Views ( Year 7 - year 9 ), French (Year 9), Foundation Studies ( Year 8- Year 9), English (Year 7) and Maths (Year 7).
She has worked at Trinity since September 2007 having previously been employed in the State Maintained Education System within the primary sector and adult education.
She is married with two young boys who also attend Trinity Christian School and worships at Dukinfield Congregational Church.
Qualifications
NVQ level 3 Teaching Assistant and A1 Assessor Award.

Paulette Green is the teacher responsible for GCSE Religious Studies at Trinity School. I have been teaching since 1969. Some of my experience has been in the state system at secondary level. My involvement in Christian education spans 23 years.
My own children attended Christian schools, including Trinity.
I am now part time and semi-retired. I have a role as a co-opted member of the governing body.

Beryl Cowen is a teacher at Trinity Christian School and currently teaches Maths (Years 9-11), Drama, (Years 9-11) Psychology and Sociology. (GCSE)
Originally training as a social worker she later became a teacher when her youngest child started senior school at Trinity. She has been married for 40 years and has 3 boys and 4 grandchildren.
Beryl has experience of working across both the Primary and Secondary sector.
She loves drama and singing and is a leader of a small church in Stockport.
She also works with a Christian internet school (North Star UK) where she teaches Sociology and Psychology at GCSE/ A level

Gwen Towell teaches IT across all year groups at Upper School, GCSE Child Development, Year 7 PSE, Year 7 Foundation Studies and an after-school “Scrapbooking Club.”
After graduating in 1978 with a B.Ed. Degree she taught in a junior school in Bramhall, Stockport. She then taught Art at Covenant School, a Christian School in Stockport. In 1985 Gwen's children came to Trinity School. Since then she has acted as a Governor of Trinity on a number of occasions and has taught a variety of subjects in both Lower and Upper school.
Gwen is married to Jim and they have nine children, Adam, Ben, Peter, Megan, Kimberley, Lydia, Nathan, Naomi and Bethany, who have all attended Trinity School. Gwen helps to run Trinity “Stampers”, a monthly cardmaking group for adults, based in Trinity School, and is a member of Mottram Evangelical Church.

Richard Adu-Ntow is a member of the Science Teaching Department at Trinity Christian School.
He is a qualified scientist with a Degree in Bio-Medical Science.
Richard is a committed Christian and currently worships at Jacob’s Ladder Messianic Fellowship in Whitefield.

Gareth Crossley currently teaches at Trinity Lower School working with Year 5 and Year 6. He has worked in Primary Schools, in both State Maintained and Christian Independent for ten years. As a committed Christian, Gareth believes passionately that Christ-Centred Education is one way in which parents can effectively train their children to become envisioned adults who carry a passion for Jesus into their work places and communities. Gareth was taught at Trinity himself, going on to college and later Liverpool Hope University to complete an Honours Degree in Inclusive Education. Gareth enjoys painting, video editing, photography and drumming.
He is married to Liz and together they are members of Newbold Baptist Church in Rochdale. They have a daughter called Naomi.

Chris O’Gorman is the year 3 and 4 teacher and is part of the Senior Management Team. He has been teaching at Trinity since 1997 and has taught years 3 to 6. Chris is married to Siân and has one son, Thomas, who will join the nursery class next year.

Ross Evans is Head of Geography and is a member of the SMT. His additional teaching responsibilities include Careers Education and General Studies. He has encouraged Community Service and the Duke of Edinburgh Award. He joined Trinity Christian School in 1988 as joint Headteacher and before that he taught in a number of Secondary schools in Stockport.
Ross is currently a leader at a church in Stockport. He is married to Sue and has two daughters who were both pupils at Trinity.
