Year 1 & 2
Trinty Treasures

Pupils in Years 1 and 2 at Trinity Treasures are full of enthusiasm and curiosity as they move into a more structured phase of their education. Building on the foundations of the Early Years, children are gently guided into more formal learning while still enjoying the freedom to explore through purposeful play and creative experiences.

Classroom routines are carefully designed to support growing independence, concentration, and confidence. Our nurturing, Christ-centred approach encourages pupils to take ownership of their learning, develop resilience, and grow in character. Rich opportunities for collaborative work, outdoor learning, and spiritual reflection ensure that each child is supported in developing both academically and personally.

Trinity Treasures provides a secure, joyful environment where every child is known, valued, and encouraged to thrive as they begin to discover more about themselves, their faith, and the world around them.

At our school, we follow the National Curriculum to provide a well-rounded and engaging education for every child. Our core subjects include Mathematics, English, Phonics, and Science, building strong foundations in essential skills. Alongside these, we explore a wide range of topics in History and Geography to deepen children’s understanding of the world around them.

Computing is also a key part of our curriculum, helping pupils develop digital skills, problem-solving abilities, and confidence in using technology safely and creatively.

Physical Education encourages active, healthy lifestyles, supported by regular outdoor activities such as welly walks. Art provides a space for creativity and self-expression, enriching the learning experience.

To support pupils with SEND, we also incorporate Makaton lessons, promoting inclusive communication and helping all children to feel seen, understood, and empowered in their learning environment.

We also enjoy regular baking activities, which support learning in maths, science, and life skills while encouraging teamwork, independence, and fun in a practical, hands-on setting

In Year 1 and 2, daily Bible teaching, prayer, and worship songs are woven into our routine, nurturing children’s spiritual growth and a strong sense of community. The Fruit of the Spirit underpins our behaviour goals, helping children develop positive character traits such as kindness, patience, and self-control.
