SUBJECTS
Art Year 7-11
At Trinity students learn the Elements of Art (line, shape, form, colour, value, texture, space) and the Principles of Design (balance, contrast, emphasis, movement, pattern, rhythm, unity).
They explore different materials and techniques such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.
Art can lead to careers in design, fine arts, illustration, architecture, and more.

Citizenship Year 10-11
Citizenship teaches students about their rights, responsibilities, and roles in society.
It covers topics such as democracy, government, laws, human rights, diversity, and active participation in the community.
Students learn to think critically, respect others, and contribute positively to society.



English Years 7-11
English focuses on developing essential skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. At Trinity Students explore a range of literary texts—including novels, plays, poetry, and non-fiction—learning to analyse language, themes, and characters. They also build creative and formal writing skills through stories, essays, articles, and speeches. The subject enhances grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and punctuation, while encouraging critical thinking, imagination, and clear communication. Speaking and listening are practised through discussions, presentations, and debates.

Food and Nutrition
Years 7-11
This course provides a strong foundation in food and nutrition, combining practical cooking skills with knowledge of hygiene, safety, and healthy eating. Students explore the science behind food and expand their understanding through global cuisines and cultural food practices. They also learn to adapt recipes for various dietary needs and preferences.


Geography Year 7-11
Geography helps students understand the world around them by exploring physical and human environments. Topics include natural processes like earthquakes, rivers, and climate, as well as human issues such as urbanisation, development, and globalisation. At Trinity, students develop map skills, data analysis, and fieldwork techniques, while learning about the connections between people, places, and environments locally and globally. Geography encourages critical thinking, environmental awareness, and informed decision-making.

History Years 7-11
History helps students understand how past events have shaped the world today. It covers key periods such as the Middle Ages, the Industrial Revolution, world wars, and civil rights movements. Students learn to analyse sources, evaluate evidence, and understand different perspectives. At Trinity, students will develops critical thinking, research, and writing skills while being encouraged to appreciate historical change, continuity, cause and effect.
Maths Years 7-11
At Trinity, Maths builds core skills in number, algebra, geometry, statistics, and probability. Students learn to solve problems, interpret data, and apply mathematical reasoning in real-life and theoretical contexts. The subject develops logical thinking, accuracy, and analytical skills, preparing learners for further education, everyday tasks, and a wide range of careers.


Physical Education
Years 7-11
Physical Education (PE) is an essential part of the school curriculum, designed to help students develop physical, social, emotional, and cognitive skills through a variety of activities. Throughout the Secondary School, PE transitions from simple motor skills and fitness activities to more complex sports and team-building exercises.

Religious Studies Years 7-11
Religious Studies explores major world religions, ethical issues, and philosophical questions. At Trinity, students learn about beliefs, practices, and values from different faiths, encouraging understanding and respect for diverse perspectives. The subject promotes critical thinking, discussion, and reflection on moral and spiritual topics, helping students to form their own informed views and engage with the world around them.
Science Years 7-11
Science at Trinity develops knowledge and understanding across biology, chemistry, and physics. Students learn about living organisms, chemical reactions, energy, forces, and the structure of matter. The subject encourages curiosity, experimentation, and problem-solving through practical investigations and scientific enquiry. Science builds analytical and critical thinking skills, preparing students for further study and helping them understand the world and its technologies.

Spanish Years 7-11
Spanish teaches students to understand, speak, read, and write in the Spanish language. At Trinity, students build vocabulary, learn grammar, and develop communication skills through everyday topics such as family, school, hobbies, and travel. The subject also introduces students to Spanish-speaking cultures, promoting global awareness and intercultural understanding. Learning Spanish enhances memory, confidence, and opens opportunities for future education, travel, and careers.


World Views
Years 7-9
At Trinity, we want to break down the walls between the Humanities subjects, and want to give our pupils a sense of place, history and culture, whilst also seeing the importance of religious and world view beliefs.
The approach to the course, which runs throughout Key Stage 3, aims to inform students in such a way as to promote sensitivity toward, and understanding of, other cultures. Areas of topic include South Africa, Japan, the Caribbean, India, Russia, Judaism

Gardening
At Trinity we understand that many pupils learn best outside of the classroom. By providing the opportunity to work in the Psalm 23 garden, students learn through hands-on experiences in natural environments. This helps to build confidence, creativity, teamwork, and develop problem-solving. Children enhance their practical skills and environmental awareness, while engaging in play, discovery, and reflection.
