PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Athletics 2_edited.jpg

At Trinity we provide a broad and balanced curriculum that inspires all pupils to participate and succeed in all areas of physical education.

Opportunities to compete in sports and other activities help build character and embed values such as sportsmanship, fairness, and respect.

We want all our children to love sports and exercise, and to understand how to live an active and healthy lifestyle. Our learning objectives aim to develop physical, cognitive, social, and emotional skills, producing well-rounded athletes. We teach children knowledge through rules, strategies, and tactics, as well as how to participate healthily and develop motor competence. We work to develop confident, successful, and independent learners who can solve problems whilst fostering values such as sportsmanship, fair play, and etiquette.

Our physical education curriculum is built on four key pillars:

  • Physical Development: Improve fitness and physical skills through a wide variety of activities.

  • Health Literacy: Help students make informed decisions about their health and well-being.

  • Social Skills: Build teamwork, communication, and leadership through collaborative and competitive experiences.

  • Lifelong Physical Activity: Foster a long-term appreciation for physical activity, health, and fitness.

Our curriculum is enhanced with the use of outside facilities, such as tennis lessons at the local tennis club, Street Dance lessons at a Dance Academy, and the use of a local athletics track for an annual Secondary School Sports Day.
