MATHS

Years 7-9:
Key Stage 3 Maths lays the foundation for advanced mathematical learning by covering essential topics. Students develop problem-solving skills, logical reasoning, and the ability to apply mathematics to real-life situations. In Key Stage 3 we use online learning platforms such as www.MangaHigh.com to enhance learning and monitor homework.

Some of the topics covered at Key Stage 3 are:

-
Number: Integers, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratio, and proportion
-
Algebra: Expressions, equations, sequences, formulae, and simple graphing
-
Geometry: Properties of shapes, angles, perimeter, area, volume, symmetry, transformations
-
Statistics: Collecting data, averages (mean, median, mode), range, interpreting graphs and charts
-
Probability: Basic probability concepts, experiments, and outcomes

Key Stage 4:
The GCSE Maths curriculum is designed not only to build technical skills but also to develop logical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and the confidence to apply mathematics in everyday life and future studies. At Trinity we follow the Edexcel GCSE Maths course.

The course is assessed at the end of Year 11 through 3 examinations.

Our small class sizes facilitate progress and learning for pupils of all abilities and experience. Problem-solving and critical thinking strategies are encouraged, thus developing the pupils’ ability to think independently.
God has put Maths all around us. Mathematical knowledge and understanding opens up a world of possibilities!
