CITIZENSHIP

The Citizenship course is offered as a GCSE Option and has been written to reflect SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Cultural and Cultural) guidelines.

GCSE Citizenship empowers students to understand their rights, responsibilities, and roles within a democratic society. The course explores key themes such as government structures, the legal system, human rights, and social justice. Students develop a deep awareness of political processes, community engagement, and global issues, learning how to participate effectively in civic life. Through debates, case studies, and active projects, learners build critical thinking, communication, and decision-making skills, preparing them to become informed, responsible, and proactive citizens.

  • Careers and Work related learning

The course is assessed through 2 examinations at the end of Year 11.
