Year 3 & 4

Welcome to Year 3 and 4
Our Year 3 and 4 classes offer a warm, nurturing environment where every child is known, valued, and supported to thrive both academically and emotionally. We follow the National Curriculum, providing a broad and balanced programme of study that includes English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, Computing, PE, and the Arts.
Learning is brought to life through a range of creative and purposeful experiences, including outdoor Forest School sessions that encourage exploration, resilience, and a deeper connection with nature. Our teaching is enriched with Art, Music lessons, and opportunities to express creativity through cross-curricular projects.
We adopt an attachment-informed approach to learning, offering structure and safety while fostering strong relationships and emotional security. Visual timetables, individualised support, and small class sizes allow us to tailor learning to meet the unique needs of each child. Critical thinking, independent tasks, and partner work are carefully balanced to encourage collaboration, self-confidence, and reflection.
Throughout all that we do, we aim to foster independence while providing the right level of support and nurture, helping children to take ownership of their learning journey. We celebrate effort and progress, not just outcomes, helping pupils build resilience and a growth mindset.

As a Christian school, we encourage spiritual development and growth through Bible teaching, worship songs, and prayer. The Fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—underpins our approach to behaviour, character development, and relationships, guiding the way we live and learn together. In Year 3 and 4, children grow in confidence, curiosity, and capability—laying strong foundations for their future learning and development.
